Deleted a mailbox account on Exchange 2007 by accident

I had two users with the same name and last name. By mistake i've deleted the wrong mailbox and active directory account. Once i've realized that i recreated the user account on Active Directory. Then i recreated the mailbox as well. Unfortunately when the user tries to send or receive an e-mail it comes back with an error. I understand that exchange is complaining that i've recreated the same mailbox account with the same settings that were there before. Is there any way to get around this? It sends me an undeliverable mail with the below message.

users_mailbox@mycompany.com
#550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired ##
