Hi,
I am not sure if I have mis-understood the term of the remote collectors - but from what I understood was that it was allow me to keep an eye on a 'hidden' remote network opening only one port 443 (in this case) with the remote collector sending data every 5mins (my chosen time slot) and report on device states. (i.e Ping success, other possible information).
But from my experience the remote collector is sending information back to the central server but only a device or two is updated, but to make things worst if I unplug a computer so the remote can't ping it local network - it shows that it wasn't able to ping that particular address in the remote server in the net scan but that information never makes it back to the central server, I left the device for well over one hour and it never once updated to say offline so the alerts never got triggered.
Could you please let me know if I am doing something wrong or if this is the correct expected behavior. If it doesn't report offline devices then the remote collect is effectively useless.
As I say the remote is sending data as it says updated 5 mins in settings | remote but when looking at each individual device it isn't being update for at least 30mins minimum. This is also the case if I change credentials to be used for info sniffing and it takes at least 30mins to update on the device level for that change as well. Just finishing off one device hasn't updated for 1hr 12min.
My configuration below;
Both Running versions - 6.1.01109
UUID exists on both instance.
Central - Win08R2-Web, exposed directly to web, PC firewall port 443 open, Check remote 5min
Remote - Win7Pro, Firewall opened for 443 and router redirect to PC hosted internally on port 443.
Settings on Remote - Health check 5min, Schedule scan 5mins daily, Scanner sends all data instead of deltas (tried both true | false no difference).
Any help or correct direction would be appreciated.
Jon
