Phantom disk consumption

Hi all I have a really weird issue here and hoping you might have some ideas.

I added some memory to a HyperV host server (R710). Simple enough process - clean shutdown all VM's, shutdown host, add memory modules, reboot. Nothing complicated there.

Here's the thing. Prior to the upgrade, C: drive has 17% free space (94GB roughly), after the upgrade and the reboot, with nothing else changed, altered, or even user activity that same drive now has essentially 0% free (1.15GB) and I can't find where the space has been consumed.

Ideas?

The was one VM that had an slight issue on boot up and created a snapshot. It's a simple dev-vpc so not critical and so I deleted snapshot without merge. Could that be a possiblity and if so what should I be looking for, because the snapshot files are definitely not in the snapshot directory anymore?
