Was just told that 10 users are moving to a new floor as we are out of space.
The users are financial analysts and utilize these crazy Excel models. They currently think the file server is slow.
I'm worried that things will be slower when they move. Plan is to drop some fiber down the riser.
I have a few ideas on what to do.
1. Setup a file server on the new floor and implement DFS.
2. Get two 10g switches and forget the new file server.
3. Get small file server and only move those users files/folders-no DFS, no 10g switch.
Also note that in about 1 year we are moving the entire company to a new 3 story building.
Anyone have thoughts?
