Found out yesterday that our building manager is shutting off the water in our building tonight for 5 hours. And since our server room is water cooled with an old nasty water based air conditioner this means I have to sit here tonight and shut down all our servers before they start work on the building and turn the servers back on after the fact to keep from over heating them! Crappy! there goes my night.
but on the plus side I had 4 new network switches on order to replace our old current gear which had happened to just show up last Friday. So it was decided I would do the upgrade at the same time to not waste downtime. (and my time)
Well that means I spent all day configuring and testing the switch's with the correct configs to get them ready for tonight. which I managed to finish just before 5pm. hurray.! They are ready and I have an hour to spare (free time, super maybe?) before I have to shut things down for the night and will be able to actually install them!
I love un scheduled; scheduled down time and rush hardware upgrades! end Sarcasm....
