So I have been trying to create a local printer port using the prnport.vbs that comes with win7. I looked at the help files and it looks like this will only create TCP/IP ports... Does anybody know how to create a local port for a print driver that is already installed?
I had created a PowerShell script for the helpdesk to install Encompass software, then it creates a local port named "PDF" for the Encompass print driver. Needless to say, they had issues running the script (they just can't grasp the concept of setting the execution policy to remote signed before running!!!!) and their manager wanted something stupid proof so I used a batch file. The only thing I need to add to the script is the port creation.
