In our datacenter, we still have one Server 2008 (not R2) server that is a terminal server and runs a proprietary piece of software. Every day around 3pm, it gets so slow that nobody can use it. I kick off users, but it does not speed up. Rebooting it is the only thing that works.
The only error in the logs around 3pm is GP Client Service has terminated unexpectedly. The performance monitor shows nothing major. I ran chkdsk /r last night and there were quite a few errors that it repaired, but it still did the same thing at 3pm today. I had our proprietary software vendor take a look at the internal logs for the software and she said there is nothing there.
I am at a loss where to go next. I feel like if it was a hardware issue, it would not happen at the same time every day. Could it be a bad user profile? Maybe a user is logging on...
