We use an older version of BrightStor ARCserve Backup (11.5 SP2) and it has, for the most part, done the job (we're still a Win2K3 shop). A couple of years ago when our tape loader died we switched to using USB hard drives as our backup media. We have a handfull of 2 TB external hard drives that are rotated as they become full (1 full backup, then incrementals until the drive is full). This has worked beautifully up until now.
I'm suddenly running into a problem restoring from my backups. In the Restore By Tree view, if I select a folder and select the version via Version History that I want, then do a restore, 90% of the files are missing. If I do a Restore by Session and go to the full backup on the drive, only the folder structure restores...no files.
I know enough about ARCserve Backup to get me by...I'm by no means an expert with this software. I am running the Merge utility on the drives I'm having problems with in hopes this helps. Am I on the right track, or are there other things I should try?
