I've got my spiceworks host available on a public IP, which i've given an A record of sw.domain.com and I'd also like to be able to use that same host name internally. I can ping the external IP's, but not their host names.
Our public domains are handled by Godaddy. All of the hosted A records such as sw.domain.com and server1.domain.com aren't accessible through our internal DNS. I'd like to resolve that, but it would also make more sense to make A records for their internal IP's.
So that's two questions about setting up DNS in SBS 2003- How do I make custom internal-only A records, and why can't I resolve the external host names?
