Hey Guys,
My Sonicwall TZ 210 allows dual WAN with load balance, our current connection is an ADSL1 due to the physical location and is painfully slow.
It allows Load Balance Via a Ratio, when X connection reaches Y % of maximum throughput it balances it out.
The main reason is to load balance the exchange server particularly when sending emails.
Now, is it just as simple as setting up a second MX record with this static IP address as second or first priority depending on the speed of the connection.
To my knowledge Other Servers will do a reverse dns checkup on the ip originating from the email server and if I have that in the MX record for the domain then it will pass those checks.
My theory is that exchange will send requests to send emails out through the router, the router depending on the load will choose the best way to send the email out from one of the two connections.
With the records set up correctly everything will be all fine and dandy and I will have a redundant connection for emails should the first one go down.
So, I add a new MX record and modify the SPF record and the router will magically take care of the rest!
Does this sound right comrades?
Cheers!
