I have run into a strange issue, at certain times of the day random users are complaining that they have lost access to the shares, and can not print. To me almost sounds like a cable has been disconnected. Nevertheless a reboot always fixes the issue. I am suspecting either Trend-micro or Bentley, as the following seems to be common across all logs on the computers a little after they have complained.
These are what I see common across the logs:
Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. Software changes could not be applied. A previous log entry with details should exist. The error was : %%1612
Then the previous entry is
The removal of the assignment of application Trend Micro Client/Server Security Agent from policy Prod - Computer Software - Trend 64 succeeded.
The install of application Trend Micro Client/Server Security Agent from policy Prod - Computer Software - Trend 64 failed. The error was : %%1612
The Bentley SELECTserver Gateway service hung on starting.
Was wondering if anyone has come across an issue such as this, I am not sure if it would be Trend, that seems to be the only thing in the logs. I have checked by logs on the DC's I do not see anything unusual. We are not using folder syncing. Looked at the switch logs I do not see anything unusual there and the problem is wide spread across the WAN. Windows 7 machines are the affected ones.
