Seems like a fairly easy question, but I'm attempting to implement a WSUS server on our network (about time). Since I've never actually done this in a production environment, I have an easy question: how much I/O does WSUS typically use on a given day? We have a VM host with 8 virtual machines on it currently, and my thoughts were to install the WSUS server on an existing VM that has enough space to hold all the updates, but I want to avoid overtaxing our host box if it pushes too much I/O.
The other option of course is to use a dedicated physical box just for it.
