Hey guys. I am having an issue that I am not sure how to tackle. We have a print server and I have setup printer redirection in group policy. I made the redirect per machine, and servers are in a different OU and they do not receive printer redirection at all. On our terminal servers we setup printers as a local port and point the port to our print server. Our users use a remote app terminal server and have shortcuts to a few programs that point to that server. Now, for some reason users are getting a redirected printer for one of our locations of "printername on printserver" and it gets set to the default for some reason. We are receiving complaints from the printer in question because of people accidentally printing to it. I have confirmed that it is not a group policy issue, because I can remove the redirected printer and do not get access denied. I have also done a gpresult /h and see nothing about the questioned printer. It seems to happen to random users. I thought that I had this fixed a ways back but do not.
Now, I know that redirected printing is per user...therefore you cannot see said printers in devices and printers. Is it possible to see all of the redirected user printers on said server or machine? It is very hard to troubleshoot this because I cannot view them in one centralized place. I have to wait and receive a call from the branch and see if there is a name on the printed piece of paper lol. Once I find said user I can connect to them and delete the printer.
