We've inherited an environment that contains a virtual 2008R2 RDS server that's a patchwork of failing local security policies, outdated software, software conflicts, registry errors,etc. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to whip up another VM, install current software and put everything together decently.
It has 15 RDS CAL's installing in Licensing manager and in previous migration scenarios I had the info from when the RDS CAL's were purchased for the migration process. Not in this case, the company remembers paying X to make it appear in the VM cluster. There's no licensing info - did pull the server license itself out w/Powershell. X is unavailable.
Is there a way to do this? Am I missing something? For once I can't find much info anywhere, just a lot of "at this point enter the CAL info from the purchase documentation.."
