We had a huge storm last night and several servers needed work this morning. One Poweredge 2900 is referencing an LED error - E1810 HDD 3 Fault. Most of our servers are no longer covered by warranties and had little documentation when I came on board. I have had these issues on some other servers and it was as simple as replacing the bad hard drive (live) and letting it rebuild. I'm not sure what I'm looking at as far as configurations on this server, though. When running a Dell Online Diagnostic test, it shows the disk in slot 3 is indeed not supported by Dell and it reflects 0 MB. Like I said, I have absolutely no idea what type of configuration this server is (RAID 5?), and want to make sure that swapping out the bad drive is all that needs to be done. Everything else in the test passes. The startup error this morning said something about a virtual drive failing (this is not a virtual machine). There are a total of 5 hot swappable drives installed in the front of the server. I will include a screenshot of the diagnostic. If anyone can explain it to me, and/or just let me know if my usual "fix" of swapping out the drive will suffice, I would sure appreciate it!
