Here's the scenario:
Upgraded our domain from an aging SBS 2000 server to a new machine with SBS 2011 standard. The whole thing went about as well as I could have hoped with help from the good guys and gals over at sbsmigration.com.
However, post-upgrade I have noticed that WinXP clients now cannot access the domain when navigating My Network Places > Entire Network > Microsoft Windows Network > 'local domain name'.
It's not really a big issue as mapped drives to network locations function OK and users are not experiencing any problems (that they've told me..!).
Also on Win7 devices - only Win7 clients and servers 2008 & above are listed in the Network section of Windows explorer.
I suspect it's a DNS issue but as everything works fine from a business operation point of view I'm loathe to mess with stuff trying to 'fix' it. I am, however, curious to find out what's going on.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
