Ticket Alert Repeating Itself

Hi,

I have an alert setup to send me an email when there is any open ticket over 7 days. It is very simple, and it works. Except for the fact that today is has decided to send me a new email every half hour or so alerting me to this fact. I don't see any options in the alert settings to play with, but this is getting annoying. Why is this alert repeating itself?
