Questions on Unitrends UEB

I have been reading all the past posts for Unitrends as a way to learn more about the software. I have started a 30 day trial but will probably switch to NFS using the SPICYUEB Promo. In the course of my testing and reading, there are still a few things I am wondering about. Hopefully someone can help me out

1. Will UEB support tape libraries? We have a Tandberg LTO tape library. I have heard that VMware w/ UEB will but Hyper-V with UEB won't. Is that true? Has anyone tried it using a tape library with UEB?

2. Do you always verify your backups? If yes, how much lead time does that add to the backup job?

3. Are there any other options for Cloud Vaulting other than what Unitrends offer? We do not have another site that I can put another UEB appliance for offsite vaulting.

4. How well does UEB manage the backup storage devices? For example, if we're using multiple storage devices for backup, what happens if one of them dies? Will UEB know what backups were being stored in there and take the proper steps in doing full masters or bare metals for any backups that were lost?

5. When backing up a VM host, will it allow me to do granular file restores of the VMs or will I need to also install the agent directly on the VM itself? If I have to install the agent, won't I be then backing it up twice?

6. If I only have a single UEB VM appliance (the host is dedicated to the UEB VM and I am not vaulting), what are my options for backing up and restoring the UEB VM in case of a failure on the VM host?

7. We currently have an older 15-Bay Promise iSCSI SAN that we will be using as the Backup Storage for the UEB. It's loaded with 2TB SATA HDs and it's RAID5 only. Our current setup is two sets of RAID 5 (2TB x 7 drives each set) plus 1 global hot spare. So this creates roughly two 11TB Disk Arrays. My question is....would it be better to create smaller Logical Drives for UEB to access or just create two giant 11TB logical drives?

8. Lastly. Would it be better to attach the iSCSI SAN directly to the UEB software using UEB's built in iSCSI initiator? Or attach it to the VM Host and create VM Disks on the SAN and attach those VM disks to the UEB VM and add the storage to UEB local disks? I guess, it comes down to....do I have the VM host or UEB manage the iSCSI SAN?

I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.
