NAS Recommendations

Good morning, all!

I'm looking for a little advice and wondered if anybody would be able to provide some input. It'd be greatly appreciated!

I've recently taken over as the IT Manager of a small to medium-sized business. We currently have around 50 users. I've taken over a few of the previous manager's projects and the first 'major' one that I'm looking to tick off of the list is the implementation of a NAS device to help cope with our ever-growing storage needs. At this point in time my priority is to find a new home for our daily call recordings which, at this stage, have amassed to around 300GB within just under two and a half months. Currently, these recordings are stored on a hard disk local to the server that manages the call recording service itself.

Considering the current rate of growth I'm confident that I'm going to require a large amount of storage space (in relation to the company size and needs, of course!) in order to compensate for the call recording archives and, if possible, the migration of other archived data (such as our mail archive data).

I've not had a massive deal of experience with NAS devices previously. I've managed and configured them but have never sourced, bought and installed one from scratch so I've spent a fair amount of time researching and refining my options.

The solution that stands out for me at this stage is this Synology device:

At this point, I'll cut to the chase. Based on the requirements I've detailed is this solution a good option? Is it overkill or, in fact, the opposite? Aside from the obvious storage capacity requirement is there anything else inparticular I should be paying careful attention to when looking at solutions to suit my current needs?

I'm more than happy to provide any further information. Apologies for my ignorance on the subject thus far! Any advice would be of a massive benefit to me and I'd appreciate it tremendously.

Thanks in advance, folks!
