Database not updated. Superuser is required to perform upgrade in SAP B1

Hi,

Currently we are using SAP B1 2004 B(7.20.150) version which is installed on server, but currently we have upgraded our server and shifted to virtual server. Now when we are installing SAP client setup on client PC, during initial login we are getting error as " Database not updated. Superuser is required to perform upgrade". And if we logged in with superuser credentials then we are getting error as "In order to continue with the upgrade, the database you are updating requires a backup". Previous client setups on old pcs are working fine. Only new installation is having the mentioned problem. Please help.
