Just doing a little very early shopping/config to get an idea what sort of spec Dell's I think I'll be looking at if we go the VSA route when our storage cluster is being replaced.
I keep reading articles, mainly from storage vendors, telling me that spinning disks are dead and flash is the future and soon all primary storage will all be SSD.
How soon is "soon"?
Today all I see is that an enterprise SSD from Dell or HP seems to average around $1000 per 100gb which is about the same as Dell charge for a 4tb NL-SAS drive.
