Does the VM come with a licensed windows server inside
or do I need a separate license to run the windows server OS inside the virtual machine
For example, I want my dc to be a virtual machine
any advice and recommendations will greatly help

i'm beyond my scope here but maybe someone has a suggestion.
on a wyse thin client\server 2016 i need to restrict users from accessing some of the mapped printers. When user A logs into their session on a thin client their printers are mapped and accessible and when user B logs into their session from another terminal they have their printers mapped. Now all these printers (from both user accounts) are accessible to both users and all subsequent users who log into the server. How would we restrict these users to only seeing\accessing their specific assigned printers?
I don't currently have more specific information (but i can investigate further) as this is beyond my job description and the administrator is not being helpful with this issue.
Windows 10 license is activated, but then everyday it deactivates and needs to be reactivated again. Anyone seen things? solutions?

I have a Windows VM that I would like to add a drive since I am exhausting disk space. I currently have 50GB Disk space and down to 9GB available. Is there a way to add a drive without having to partition to easily add a drive of say another 50GB? Or not the case due to the allocated drive space of only 50GB.

I recently got my first Spiceworks inventory up and rolling but I was wondering if there was a way to monitor (not upgrade) the firmware on my HP Proliant servers.
I tried using WMI scanning on the servers, this didn't return what I need. The iLO tab is blank saying "iLO not detected" so maybe this is where that information is?
I also added the iLO of each server as separate devices from the servers and the only firmware version it showed me was the iLO's firmware.

We are troubleshooting disk performance issues on a Hyper-V terminal server running 2012 R2. User are complaining that programs can be incredibly slow to open, will be intermittent. Used by about 6 users as there main desktop. Runs accounting programs, outlook and office programs, some file sync and share, other general use stuff.Current Disk Queue Length seems to average around 6 during the day with spikes in the 11-22 range and one off highs of 86.Avg. Disk sec/Write averages 41ms yesterday and seem to sit in the 60ms range during the day. This is all monitored from the Hosts drive where the VHDxs are stored.
I was looking at writes on the VM and saw a windows search index log for each user using a lot of IO, is there a way to stop this log form running on each users profile without turning off indexing? Anything else in general...

On occasion I've used the office removal tool. It's generally a desperation measure when an uninstall/reinstall doesn't fix the root issue. The last time I used it it removed click to run which removed the ability to reinstall Office 365
I had wondered if it was a fluke... nope.. no fluke. CRAP. Now I have a remote user with a need to reinstall office and nothing pretty much anywhere to tell me how the f to reinstall click to run.
Oh the original issue was the user kept freezing. I did a simple repair, long repair, uninstall/reinstall and it still froze. My thought on the removal tool (while hoping it didn't leave me a crap pile again) was that it might actually remove some of the add ins or other stuff that might have been killing the installation.
So anyone know how to install just click to run so the darned office 365 on line will work...

I would like to provide better remote connectivity to our employees. We are interested in utilizing our Meraki Client VPN to allow remote workers to tunnel into our network.
These laptops will be restricted for business use only, and should only be functional when working inside our network domain, or when connecting remotely using Windows VPN.
Is there a way to restrict the usefulness of these laptops, so they are useless outside of VPN functionality? For productivity and security concerns we don't want people roaming around the internet on their company issued laptop, especially when they contain company data. Restricting usefulness to static VPN connections only, seems like a helpful way to curb these concerns. I'm unsure of how to implement this, or if it's even possible.
