I'm pulling my very grey hair out of this one....

Standard AD, on-prem, 2012R2. File server is 2012, client is Win10. Application installed is Iris (Earnie).

Part of Iris is installed to the file share. This wouldn't usually be an issue with most software but we've had some interesting problems where parts of Iris do not work, specifically if you need to access the internet. Launching as Domain Admin works, all parts work. Launching as a local admin with network share mapped doesn't work. Launching as an end user, it doesn't work.

I've just had a 2 hour call with Iris who are pretty much washing their hands of it saying it's my issue as the app should work from the network share.

Any ideas of what to check? My GPOs are pretty vanilla.

MDT 8456 Hangs on State Restore Step Win 10 1909

Hi, so I am tasked with applying MDT to image for my org. I got WDS and MDT setup on our server, and I have a standard task sequence setup with an image captured via DISM. Trying to applying win 10 1909, using the latest ADK and PXE booting. I am testing it as a domain admin for now.

It appears to hit the State Restore step then hangs, it never reboots or joins the domain and completes. This is where the server BDD Log stops:

I have attached the entire BDD log from the server.

In CMTrace the only error in red is:File C:\MININT\Scripts\LTITriggerUpgradeFailure.wsf already exists in Target

I'm hoping to find out why it's hanging.

Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone on this forum can advise.

I was working on my company's server. it needed a drive cage, expansion card and a drive installed. I connected them up while the server was off. Turned the server on, and noticed the new drive cage wasn't turning on. No power.

I turned the HP ML350 off and swapped some cables, and it still wasn't illuminating any LED's.

Now by this point, it was getting late in my day, so I decided to remove the new parts and leave the old cage and it's drives in how it was previously, so I could reattempt it later in the week.

I found that the now the OLD drive cage will not power the drives. The old drives do not illuminate any LED's while the server is posting. The onboard drive controller has no errors in ILO. My Google searches led me to believe it was a cable issue (And I may have actually...

In last few weeks we are keep seing server with high memory usage on them. Almost everyday I have to reboot the server to get the memory back. Rebooting keeps the memory down for about a day or few days. Doesn't seem to matter if there are people in the building or not.

Symptoms include the expected slowness as the physical memory approaches maximum available. What's strange is that I am not seeing a rising non-paged pool size. Because of this, I don't really know how to go about investigating this problem.

Running following.

1 RAMMAP show that Paged Pool is using the most memory.

2. Poolmon show that Toke is using most Bits.

3. Handle show that current token are 1491.

Running the Handle -a -p lsass.exe show that lsass has 425 tokens.

Some windows tasks not firing on schedule

I have a couple of powershell scripts that need to be run on a monthly basis, so I've set them up as windows tasks to run when they are needed too.

Most of these are variations of the same script to run reports, but just with different parameters.

These were running well on my 2012 standard file server, but when we moved over to 2016 and recreated the tasks, these particular tasks either don't run with "Task Scheduler did not launch task..." and when I configure the option to run if the task is missed, instead of writing to the task history that it missed the task, it just doesn't execute.

The triggers are all very similar "On a schedule"

Monthly

All months selected

on: day required by specific report, i.e first monday.

The action is to call the .bat that launches the powershell script.

Anybody know where I can go look to see why these tasks...

Looking for a little guidance and advice on how I should go about applying critical patches, updates and upgrades to my recently installed ESXi 6.7 server. ESXi is installed on the bare metal booting from SD Card(s) with Windows Server as my guest VMs

I know it's fairly straightforward, but I've never had to run an update on ESXi yet (our old 5.0 server has had no updates for years).

I am logged into my VCSA and in the update manager.

Q1. In the UPDATES tab, there are a list of updates/baselines - hundreds. I see that a ton of them are for other versions. ESXI600-xxxxxxxxx for example. These obviously don't pertain to me, and I see that I can probably mark them and "remove baseline". Do I want to do this for the versions that I KNOW do not apply to me?

Q2. Can I identify and install ALL of the patches at once - after I reboot to...

If I add the user variable at the end I get the UPN of the users but the users don't appears in the group. what am i doing wrong? I am trying to use powershell switches. I don't think I am piping in the values into the stream...

Hey guys,

We are in the middle of a datacenter refresh and we've contacted 2 service providers to assist us.
I'm a freelancer on-site (sole it contact) and am only there 2 days a week.

Hence the client wants to work with a service provider to have the transition going as smoothly as possible.

the 1 vendor is a HPE partner, the other a DataCore partner. And we've got 2 offers in.

No surprise here that 1 is HP's Simplivity solution and the other is a DataCore Solution.
I was trying to find some info on here about these solutions.

Got some people that i know that are working with SImplivity and it seems like it's a robust system.

Found very few info on DataCore. But when i go to whatmatrix en compare the 2, DataCore scores soo much higher than Simplivity.

Searched around this forum and only found very old posts about Datacore.

So my question...

One of my user is facing issue with email receiving from one domain. for example lets say domain name is abc, when any email he is received from abc domain the images are not being displayed the user has to manually click download picture.
Experts guide me on this as how to make sure these images are downloaded automatically.
