One of the things I really love about my job is that we have a lot of fun events, and every day it seems something funny happens.
Take today for instance, there are a lot of people here with colds so I decided to mark a few offices with a quarantine picture. Everyone loved it and it made people feel a bit better about being sick at work, especially because they know they are in company of such good people.
Most Fridays we will group order from one of the various restaurants around town. It will usually be a place no one frequents, and that is further away than what we normally could have time to get food from. We will usually all sit down and eat together. It builds a really strong team because you get some time in to goof off and talk with people you normally don't get to interact with.
This past holiday we started something even crazier than before, we started an office Tacky Lights contest. People could enter as a department or as individuals, and everyone got to vote on best office/user space. The winners got Starbucks gift cards. The call center here was amazingly decorated, since we have a lot of antique light fixtures, they took advantage of some of the more lodge styled lighting and really pulled off something you'd expect to see outside.
We also do a monthly birthday party for everyone who has a birthday that month. We take a 15 minute break to sing happy birthday and eat cake!
Who else works at a place that gets to do fun things like this? I feel like they are great for team building, and a nice break from working super hard.
