Cisco ASA 5505 VPN intermittent connectivity issues

I'm running a Cisco ASA 5505. It has two VPNs set up. One is a static tunnel to another site and the other is just your basic client-based internet VPN.

The site-to-site VPN was set up last December and works just fine. The client VPN, however, which was set up over a year ago by my predecessor, has never worked reliably. The problem is this:

Once or twice a month the VPN connection will stop working with no warning. If I try to connect via the client, the connection shows as being active, but I have no access to anything. Nothing can be pinged, no server access, no network share access, etc. Anywhere from a few hours to a few days later, it goes back to working without any explanation of what happened and without me having done anything to fix it.

During all this time, the other published services (RDP and Exchange) continue to work perfectly.

I have checked the routing tables and ipconfig /all when the VPN is acting up - they are no different than when it's working. Restarting the firewall does not help at all. Not really sure where to go from here with troubleshooting - any suggestions?
