Hi all,
I need some clarification. I have an SBS 08 server on the network (don't get me started). Member servers are 2008 R2 and client workstations are Windows 7. I'd like to start using KMS so I don't have to keep entering MAKs after reimaging a client machine.
I've done some reading and just want to verify: first I need to install an update for Server 2008 that allows it to activate Win7 and R2 clients. Then I need to use slmgr -ipk to install Windows 2008 R2 KMS key, is that correct? Then use slmgr -ato to activate the 2008R2 license? That should then allow my server to answer activation requests from clients for both 2008R2 and 7?
Do I have that process correct? Thanks!
