Getting a bad blacK Screen Of Death
I think I have to replace the motherboard, but wanted to see if anyone had suggestions I haven't tried yet...
HP Pavilion G-Series Notebook
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
RAM: 4GB
BIOS: F.48
So, someone spilled tea (no sweetener) onto 2 laptops.
One is fine, so I have been using it to troubleshoot the other.
I finally tried swapping out the SSD with the good laptop's. The bad one booted right up on the good laptop, so it's not the disk.
On the bad, regardless of the disk I use: After trying to repair startup with a repair disk and a repair usb, it always hits the Windows logo, then black screen with non-functional blinking cursor. Can't boot from any of the Advanced Startup Options (F8)
TRIED:
- Dismantling / cleaning / drying / blowing
- Took out battery, held down power button 60+ sec.
- Reset CMOS, pulled out,...
