I have an email that was forwarded to me. This forwarded email contains an attachment that is another email (i.e. msg attachment). When viewing the forwarded email, you don't see the .msg extension, but when you do a save-as, it will save it as an attachmentName.msg.
The problem I am having is that I cannot double-click to open it. When I do, nothing happens. I also cannot preview the attachment. When I do, I get an error message that says "This file cannot be previewed because of an error with the following previewer: Windows e-mail previewer". See the attached snapshot image I have included.
If I save the attachment as attachmentName.msg and then double-click to open it, it will open up in Outlook just fine. It just won't open when I double-click the attachment directly from the email itself. I have searched high and low and cannot find a resolve. Some have even suggested that Google Desktop search was the culprit but we don't have that installed.
Anyone come across this?
