Lately I have found remote desktop to be just absolutlyunusable and I have no idea why.
I have two different setups:
Set Up 1:
Windows Server 2016 Hyper-V.
4 Virtual Servers, I use a port forward to connect via RDP over the internet so for example Port 3192 forwards to 1 server, 3193 to the next, etc On average it takes 4-6 tries to get a connection.
1st Try: Black Screen
2nd Try: Login Screen Frozen
3rd Try: Desktop-Unresponsive
4th Try: Working
Sometimes it takes additional tries.
Now if I connect a VPN and then connect via the IP, it usually works ok. Sometimes it takes 2 tries.
Set Up 2:
Windows Desktop PC Windows 10
Same situation. Port forward so I don't show the actual RDP port to the world. It will fail 9/10 times to negotiate the connection. Doing a VPN works no problems.
What can I do to be able to directly RDP over the internet? I don't...
